My name is Alexander Kalpakgian, and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. My artwork is inspired by my Catholic faith and my Armenian heritage. I have taken a few art classes throughout high school and one art history class while studying in Austria. Other than that I am entirely self-taught.

St. Pope John Paul II said in his letter to artists, "Every genuine artistic intuition goes beyond what the senses perceive and, reaching beneath reality's surface, strives to interpret its hidden mystery."

That is mission of Kalpakgian Studio. To go beyond what the senses perceive and interpret the hidden mystery of life through visual arts.

The How

I use various mediums to create visual art. Paint, graphite, and charcoal to name only a few. Lately, I have been developing my digital art skills as well as photography.
